David Flees to the Philistines (1 Samuel 27)

Achish's Protection

David and his 600 men arrived in Gath, the capital city of the Philistines. David met with Achish, the king of Gath, and requested protection. Achish, unaware of David's true identity, granted him the city of Ziklag, where David and his men settled.

Desperate for guidance, Saul turned to a medium, the witch of Endor. Disguising himself, Saul asked the witch to summon the spirit of Samuel, who foretold Saul's defeat and death.

David's Victory over the Amalekites (1 Samuel 30:1-31)


David's Pursuit and Victory

While the Philistines attacked Israel, David and his men pursued the Amalekites, who had raided Ziklag and taken their families captive. David's forces defeated the Amalekites, recovering their families and plunder.

David's journey in 1 Samuel 27-30 reveals his trust in God, despite the challenges he faced. Though forced to flee to the Philistines, David remained faithful, and God continued to bless him.
