2015-16 UEFA Europa League
Overview
The 2015-16 UEFA Europa League was the 47th season of Europe's secondary club football tournament organized by UEFA, and the seventh season since it was renamed from the UEFA Cup. The final was played at the St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland.
Qualifying Phase
The qualifying phase was played from 30 June to 27 August 2015. A total of 158 teams participated in the qualifying phase, which consisted of four rounds: the Preliminary Round, the First Qualifying Round, the Second Qualifying Round, and the Play-off Round.
Group Stage
The group stage featured 48 teams, drawn into 12 groups of four teams each. The teams played each other in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout phase.
