10 Years Later, I Married My Nemesis

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Encounter

It's been 10 years since I graduated from high school. A lot has changed since then, but one thing remains constant - my rivalry with the most arrogant and condescending person I've ever met, Lee Jihyun.

The Memory of That Day

I still remember the day I met him like it was yesterday. I was the new kid in school, trying to navigate the unfamiliar hallways and classrooms. And then, I stumbled upon him - the star athlete, the popular kid, and the one who thought he was above everyone else. He made a snide comment about my outfit, and that was it. The spark that ignited our never-ending rivalry.

Throughout high school, we constantly butted heads. He would mock me, and I would retaliate. It was a vicious cycle, but I never backed down. I had to prove to him that I was just as good, if not better. The rivalry continued until graduation day, when we finally parted ways.

The Unexpected Encounter

Fast-forward 10 years, and I'm attending a high-end charity gala, sipping champagne and mingling with the who's who of society. When I turned around to grab another glass of champagne, I collided with a familiar figure - Lee Jihyun.

My heart skipped a beat as our eyes locked. The same arrogance, the same smirk, the same piercing gaze that could melt ice. He looked...different, yet unchanged. The years had treated him well, and he was even more handsome than I remembered.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant despite my racing heart.

"I could ask you the same thing," he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I didn't know they allowed commoners to attend these events."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm here as a guest of honor, thank you very much."

He chuckled, and for a moment, I saw a glimmer of the old rivalry. "I'm impressed," he said. "You've come a long way, Lee Soo-ah."

As we exchanged a few more pleasantries, I couldn't help but wonder what had brought him here tonight. Was it mere coincidence, or was there something more to it?

The night wore on, and we parted ways, but not before exchanging phone numbers. I couldn't shake off the feeling that this chance encounter would lead to something more. Little did I know that our rivalry was far from over.

To be continued...
