1 Corinthians 2:14-15 KJV: Understanding Spiritual Things

As believers, we are called to live a life that is led by the Spirit and not by our fleshly desires. In 1 Corinthians 2:14-15, the apostle Paul writes about the importance of having a spiritual understanding in order to comprehend the things of God.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14, KJV)

In this verse, Paul highlights the difference between the natural man and the spiritual man. The natural man, who is controlled by his fleshly desires, cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God. This is because the natural man views spiritual things as foolishness, and therefore, he cannot understand or know them. This is because spiritual things can only be understood through spiritual discernment, which the natural man lacks.

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. (1 Corinthians 2:15, KJV)

On the other hand, the spiritual man is able to discern all things. This means that he can understand spiritual truths and principles, and make wise judgments. However, the spiritual man is not judged by others, because he is not bound by the same rules and standards as the natural man. The spiritual man is free to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, without fear of judgment or criticism from others.

Conclusion

In conclusion, 1 Corinthians 2:14-15 reminds us that spiritual understanding is essential for living a life that is pleasing to God. As believers, we must cultivate a spiritual mindset, which allows us to discern spiritual things and make wise judgments. By doing so, we can live a life that is led by the Spirit, and not by our fleshly desires.
