Since we are using a concentrated HCl solution (37% w/w or 12 M), we need to calculate the volume of concentrated HCl required:

  • 3.646 g / (37% x 12 M) = 8.22 mL of concentrated HCl

Step 2: Preparation of the Solution

  1. Add 8.22 mL of concentrated HCl to a volumetric flask (100 mL or 1000 mL).
  2. Add distilled water to the flask until the volume reaches 100 mL or 1000 mL.
  3. Mix the solution well by swirling or shaking the flask.

Verification of the Solution

To verify the solution, you can use pH paper or a pH meter to check the pH of the solution. A 0.1N HCl solution should have a pH around 1.
